The British Council has organised a series of Teacher Takeaway webinars for English teachers in cooperation with the Seoul National University of Education.
The fifth webinar of Season 2 was held on 8 December, and Ian Caddy, Educational Consultant of the British Council, presented on using digital resources to develop intercultural communication and global citizenship in English classrooms.

This session will consider how teachers might utilise existing web and other media resources to develop students’ capacity in areas of intercultural communication and citizenship. The session will include practical ideas and tips for teachers to consider when selecting materials and explore areas they may focus on when creating holistic classroom activities that supplement regular language and skills practice.
Ian Caddy has worked in English language education for the last eighteen years and has taught adults and children of all ages and worked extensively in teacher and examiner training and management. Having worked in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia, and in both public and private education systems, he is keen to share his experiences of how best to engage learners with topics that challenge us all as global citizens in the modern world.
