The Skills for Social Entrepreneurs programme in Korea is a result of strong collaboration between Diageo Korea and the British Council. Diageo was involved in the programme’s design and has been active in its continued success. It aims to build skills for young innovators who are working to make a positive change through social entrepreneurship.
Why does Diageo Korea partner with us?
Achieving Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) aims
Motivating and empowering young people have always been the main objective of Diageo Korea’s corporate outreach. Our partnership with Diageo formed organically because of perfect alignment between our initiatives for youth and society.
Developing and motivating staff
Over the course of a six-month competition and capacity building effort, staff at Diageo Korea contributed significantly to providing one-on-one mentoring for applicants. Senior and middle managers volunteered to provide expertise and mentoring to start-up social entrepreneurs. This, in return, gave Diageo’s staff a strong sense that they were “doing the right thing”. They also felt more strongly committed to their socially responsible employer.
Enhancing brand
Working with us, Diageo Korea has been able to promote their corporate outreach nationwide through face-to-face events, online publications and our blog.
