Professional exams process

Application

Please make sure your application to sit an exam overseas is approved by the exam boards first.

  1. Download the exam application form: Please download the exam application form here. And fill out the form.
  2. Apply for an exam: Submit the completed form via email at exams@britishcouncil.or.kr.
  3. Make a payment: You may make the payment via bank transfer once you have received the notification indicating your exam fee and the terms of payment from us.
  4. Receive the exam confirmation letter: Once your exam has been confirmed, we will notify you the exam details including the exam schedule and venue information via email.

On the test day

  • Candidates should report to the venue 15 minutes before the scheduled time of the exam. 
  • Candidates must bring the same National ID or passport used at registration.
  • Candidates can take writing instruments into the exam room. No mobile phones, books, dictionaries or papers are allowed.

Statement of results

  • Candidates should contact the university or professional institution to receive information on their exam results.

※ Candidates who require special arrangements are advised to register at least two weeks before the registration deadline. 

Test fees

  One Paper Only Two or More Papers
Test fee KRW 231,000 KRW 161,700 from the second paper

※ The above fee includes administration, proctor service, courier, and external exam venue rental fee. Exam Board Fee will be charged extra.

※ Test fee has been adjusted as of 15 March 2023.

Refund and cancellation

  • A cancellation fee (25% of the total exam fee) is charged, if an exam is cancelled between 7 to 14 business days prior to your exam date.
  • No refund will be given if you apply for cancellation within 7 business days from your exam date.
  • Candidates who are unable to show an appropriate ID on the exam day, or who are absent for personal reasons including a minor illness, will not receive a refund.
