Konglish Video Podcast 04 - modals
This month, British Council teachers Max and Lee were in Jongno talking about some things Korean speakers have problems with in English. Hopefully by watching you’ll have a better understanding of the meaning of ‘you had better’, ‘could’, ‘should’ and ‘have to’. Max and Lee have also written some language learning tips for you to try at home…
Here are Max and Lee’s tips to improve your English.
- Tip one: understanding the general meaning of different parts of speech will help you use it better. For example, modal verbs like ‘should’ and ‘could’.
- Tip two: relax when listening. Even native speakers don’t understand every word of what is being said. It’s important to not get frustrated and keep listening for overall meaning.
